Sandy Peace, Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher

Picture
Sandy Peace, CSYT
While working in a hospital as a medical imager, Sandy discovered yoga following a nagging back injury which was reluctant to heal. Wandering by chance into a Svaroopa® yoga class, she discovered this profound way of using familiar yoga poses with propping to reach into the deep core muscles and provide not only pain relief but reduce tensions and stress.
Sandy became fascinated by yoga philosophy as well as the poses (asanas), has enjoyed extended visits to India, and delved into her own inner Self. Sandy also enjoys walking/hiking, nature and time spent in reflection and meditation. She is married, has 2 grown children, and enjoys participating in dog sports with her corgis, Chloe and Ozzy.

Sandy has been a yoga teacher since 2003 . Her  certifications and training include:
  • Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher (700 hours)
  • Certified Embodyment® Yoga Therapist
  • Additional certifications in Pregnancy yoga, Vichara (self-inquiry) and Meditation
  • Courses in gentle yoga and deeper yoga.

About Svaroopa® Yoga

Svaroopa yoga logo
Svaroopa® yoga uses traditional poses in non-traditional ways, untangling deep internal body tensions while simultaneously unraveling mental and emotional patterns. Beginning with the tailbone, each class uses the poses to create openings from tailbone all the way up the spine. These openings increase flexibility, reduce tension build strength and stamina and quiet your mind. A slower-paced style, Svaroopa® yoga utilizes props such as blankets, blocks and chairs. Students discover how to soften into a pose rather than forcing their bodies into uncomfortable angles.
